Raymond and Virginia McLaurin, founding owners of McLaurin Carpets, Inc. in Soso, Mississippi, opened the doors for business in 1976 with Mr. McLaurin being the only salesman and installer.  In 1999, when long-time employees, Herschel L. Bragg, Jr. and L. David McLaurin bought the company, there were a total of 12 employees.  Currently, McLaurin Carpets staffs 26 employees – 21 “in-house” installers and 5 office/sales staff.  McLaurin Carpets, Inc. is fully insured and serves both residential and commercial communities.

McLaurin Carpets, Inc. is not a multi-purpose or discount store that happens to include flooring.  We are a flooring store that specializes in providing our customers with the finest quality flooring materials.  Our focus and full attention are on what our customers want and need as it relates to their flooring. What that means to our customers is that they can be confident their flooring and related materials will be of the highest quality meeting or exceeding the industry standards and that our installers will conduct themselves and provide workmanship in a professional manner. We offer a one-year workmanship warranty on all labor in addition to the warranty offered by the flooring manufacturer.

McLaurin Carpets, Inc.’s experienced sales staff has over 27 combined years of sales and decorating experience and can assist the customer from start to finish with all flooring and specialty ideas.  In addition to all varieties of flooring, McLaurin Carpets, Inc. custom builds ceramic tile showers and tub enclosures. We also assist the customer with slab granite countertops and custom blinds. Whether working from a set of blueprints or actually going to the project site, McLaurin Carpets, Inc. continues to provide FREE ESTIMATES without requiring the customer to pay a deposit for an estimate to be made.

Our customers will find a variety of flooring styles in our showroom – carpets by Shaw (specializing in the Kathy Ireland line), Shawmark, Mohawk; hardwoods by Mannington, Bruce, Anderson, Hartco, Prestige, TerraBella, Teragren Bamboo; laminates by Mannington, Bruce, Quick-Step, Armstrong, Shaw; vinyl by Mannington-Adura, Earthwerks, Metroflor, Nafco, Karndean; ceramic tile by Shaw, Mohawk, Marazzi, American Olean, Crossville, Interceramic, Esquire; area rugs by Shaw, including the Kathy Ireland line; custom blinds by Hunter Douglas, Kathy Ireland.

Our average work radius is approximately 60 miles.  However, we are willing to consider projects outside our average work area.

A few of McLaurin Carpets, Inc.’s commercial customers are Masonite, Laurel Airport, Pine Belt Regional Airport, Trent Lott Building @ USM, Stennis Space Center @ USM; a representation of governmental commercial customers includes County of Jones, City of Laurel, Jones County Junior College, Jones County Schools, Laurel City Schools, County of Lamar - Oak Grove Elementary School; West Ellisville Baptist Church, West Laurel Baptist Church, First Baptist Church of Ellisville, First Baptist Church of Laurel, and Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church represent a few of our church customers.

McLaurin Carpets, Inc.’s showroom, offices, and warehouse are located at 5 Mar-Gaye Drive in Soso, Mississippi.  Showroom hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. with after-hours and Saturday appointments available.

At McLaurin Carpets, Inc., we do not strive to provide the “cheapest” or the “lowest" price.  What we do strive for and expect is to provide a quality, practical and durable floor by utilizing first-quality products and materials along with experienced, professional installers at a fair price to our customers.
